Our speaker this Friday will be Elaine Strid, with Friends of Litein.

Friends of Litein is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation dedicated to providing support for the A.I.C. Litein Hospital in Kenya. Our mission is to help provide funding for hospital equipment and building upgrades.

A.I.C Litein Hospital is a self-sustainable mission hospital that provides primary and specialist care to a catchment population of 800,000 people across six counties in the South Rift region of Kenya.

Established in 1924, the hospital is fully registered with the Kenya Practitioners and Dentist Board, Nursing Council of Kenya, CHAK, MEDS and the County Government of Kericho.

Mark your calendar for ShrimpFest 2026 - it will be here before you know it! This is Lenexa Rotary's BIGGEST fundraiser of the year and we need ALL MEMBERS to be involved.

Chair, Kevin Day, has sent out a spreadsheet showing what needs to be done. Please contact him with the information needed.

Reminder -- each member is REQUIRED to buy/sell 10 tickets. Tedd Maxfield will be distributing ticket very soon.

Hurricane Relief in Jamaica

COLLECTING DONATIONS

Funds raised $600

Goal - $1,000

As you may know, fellow Lenexa Rotarian Milton Jeffery is from Jamaica and still has family there who fortunately survived the Hurricane Melissa. In alignment with our past efforts to support hurricane-affected communities, the Lenexa Rotary Foundation has approved a Pass-Through Grant to raise funds for Heart to Heart International. These funds will specifically help them provide essential hygiene kits in Jamaica.

If you would like to donate, please make your check payable to the Lenexa Rotary Foundation. You can give your donation directly to Phil Hammond or Alan Kruckemyer.

When we reach our goal of $1000, we will scheduled a date for a a hands-on hygiene kit building project.
